In
the world of the Dark-Hunters nothing is ever as it seems.
Life and death both take on a whole knew meaning as this
immortal cadre of warriors fight to protect mankind from
those creatures and demons who would prey on us.
As far as the series goes, we are
currently in stage 1 of it and Acheron will launch us into
part 2. I see the entire series as one
large, ongoing story that has 4 major parts.
The first part is Acheron.
Part 2 will be Jaden
Parts 3 will be Savitar
and 4 involves a character the
readers aren't yet familiar with.
There are questions in every book that
will be answered in the future. The one thing I ask readers
to keep in mind is that every story has at least two sides.
The side of the person who witnessed or experienced it and
the truth. Events are always clouded by perception,
conclusions and emotions. If two or more people experience
the same exact event, they will come away with two entirely
different tales about it. Sometimes VASTLY different. My
series is no exception. Each character will have their own
unique take on every event.
Sometimes they will contradict each
other. Much like my sister and I tell two different versions
of an event with I was in 4th grade. Her best friend and I
were playing vampire. When Virginia went to bite me, she
said. "I vant to suck your blood." Of course I jokingly
cried out, "No, you can't!" To which she responded, "Why?
Are you anemic?" My response to Virginia was "No, I'm
Baptist!" Now my sister (who is thirteen years older than I)
refuses to believe that I knew it was a joke. She says I was
too young to understand what anemic meant and confused the
word with atheist. Of course, since I was the one who
responded, I know for a fact that I knew what anemic meant
(I was first diagnosed anemic by my doctor at age five and
have been treated for anemia all my life). My sister to this
day says that I didn't know-- you cannot convince her
otherwise.
Everyone has argued such events with
another participant so I know you all know exactly what I'm
referring to. Then of course, there are those people who
flat out lie about events to cover for themselves or others
(or lie for reasons only they understand) and I know you all
know them too. While this can be confusing at times for the
reader and may look like I forgot what I'd initially
written, I'm hoping all of you will give me the benefit of
the doubt until the real truth is shown to you. Believe me,
in the DH world even the lies have a place.

There are many
different species and branches who make up the world. But
for those who are new to the universe, here's a quick
tutorial:
Dark-Hunter:
An ancient warrior who sold his/her soul to the
Greek goddess Artemis for a single act of vengeance. Now
they protect mankind from the Daimons who want to claim
our souls.
Apollite:
A member of a race cursed by the god Apollo. They
cannot be out in daylight and they must live on the
blood of each other. At age 27, they die a slow and
painful death unless they decide to turn Daimon and prey
on human souls.
Daimon:
An Apollite who refuses to docilely die over a curse
s/he had no part in creating. They feed on human souls
and fight the Dark-Hunters.
Were-Hunter:
Originally part of the Apollite race, their DNA was
magically spliced with animals. Now they are
shape-shifters who are embroiled in a war against each
other.
Dream-Hunter:
They are the gods of sleep who were cursed by the Greek
gods to feel no emotion whatsoever. But they carry
within them a dark secret that could completely shake
the world in which they live. The Oneroi branch are
often helpers to the Dark-Hunters.
Charonte:
A race of demons who are extremely violent and amoral.
They have a very interesting code of ethics.
Squire:
A human who is employed by a Dark-Hunter or a human who
has skills that make a Dark-Hunter's life a bit easier.
They have an entire organization set up and are willing
to die or kill to protect the secret of the DH
world.
Oracle:
One who speaks with the gods. They tend to be really
crusty/cranky people.
Chthonian: A race of... well that would be the
question. There are only a handful of them left and they
are a CRANKY bunch.
Savitar:
Yeah... in a class by himself ;) Ditto on Acheron.
