Mary came
with her brother to see Jerusalem, but they were overrun by
a tribe of thieves. Her brother disguised her as a knight
and hid her amongst his men. She was placed in a cell with
the Quinfortis who made sure they protected her identity. She
was our source of comfort and a harsh reminder of what had
been stolen from us. She was our physician when we were ill
and was the only solace we knew. Now
she is a part of the English court and no one other than
those of us who were with her knows of her past and we keep
her secret well.
