| The bastard
son of a French nobleman and a peasant, Michel was raised as
an orphan in a French monastery. At age 12, he was claimed
by his father after all of his father's legitimate heirs had
died. Embittered and angry by his father's vacillation,
Michel spent his youth doing anything he could to anger the
man.
