Demographics: Dark-Hunter fans come from all walks of life. All ages, races and all religions. Sherrilyn receives emails from 56 countries, from both male and female readers. They are military personnel, factory workers grandparents, students, public servants, programmers, stay at home moms and dads, lawyers, doctors, social workers, mechanics, professionals, teachers, etc. The one thing that they share in common is a love of things that go bump in the night.

For years Sherri dreamed of attending an RT convention. In 2001, she'd finally scraped up enough money to cover the hotel and fee, but not to cover the airline ticket. So her fans got together and not only bought her a dress to attend in, but drove her 14 hours to the convention.

She still has that dress and she still proudly wears it and thinks of those fans constantly.

Factoid: To this day, Sherri is still surprised that anyone actually shows up to her signings. She honestly expects to be in the stores all alone. She claims that she's still haunted by the memory of a guy in high school who made a comment that he wouldn't even cross the street to meet her if she had a billion dollar winning lottery ticket.

When she showed up in New Orleans in 2005 to do a signing at a Metairie bookstore, she was met with stunned looks by the bookstore personnel. "We're sorry we didn't get a chance to advertise this. Originally we were going to put you at a table right inside the door, hoping that someone might stop and talk to you. But when we started getting calls from three states away, we realized that we might need more space so we put you upstairs. By the way, did you know there's a woman here from Australia who flew in just to meet you?"

162 people showed up (the only advertising for the signing was done through her loops) and Sherri wasn't signing a new release. She was there because she was making her yearly pilgrimage to the city.
