Factoid: My original plans
for Nick was to introduce him as a cop. I wrote a few pages and realized the
character didn't work. It was then he was reborn as a smart-mouthed teen.
From that moment on, I knew I'd discovered the real man behind the snark.
Nick first appears in
Night Pleasures.

Nick was born the bastard son of a career felon and
a Bourbon Street stripper. Raised in the backroom of his mom's club,
he grew up hard on the streets of New Orleans and fell in with all
the wrong sorts.
He was pulled from the streets by Kyrian who introduced him into the
world of the Dark-Hunters. Nick was relatively happy with his duties
until the fateful night when his own foolish actions and the words
of his best friend set into motion a horrifying series of events.
He reached out to Artemis only to be betrayed yet again. Now he is
technically a Dark-Hunter and technically not. Unlike the others of
his kind, his soul is held by his mortal enemy. Not that Nick has
any interest in his soul...
Then again, he hasn't any interest in anyone else's either...
