Many of these were published in the SF magazine, Cutting Edge. The first DH novel was completed in 1991.

There are two different Sanctuaries that  exist in the realm of the Dark-Hunters. The first is the one in the books that is a premier biker bar where only one law reigns--You Don't Bite Me and I Don't Bite You. Located in the heart of New Orleans, it's a well known hang-out for any local or visiting Were-Hunter, Dark-Hunter, Dream-Hunter and gods from all pantheons. It is also a tourist hang-out where the humans have no idea that they are being protected and served by other-worldly beings.

The other Sanctuary began as a dream between the very first fans who discovered the Dark-Hunters and their world. It is an email loop where fans can interact with the Hunters and learn about the men and women who protect the night.  On the loop you can pretend to be interacting with the Hunters inside the bar itself. 

It is the haven where we go to unwind and find solace after our hunts.  All our welcome into Sanctuary and again we must observe the rules of the bar itself--check your weapons at the door and above all DO NO HARM.  And one added note to the loop, there are no alcoholic beverages allowed there ;)
