Q:Where can I find the manga?
A: The manga will be available at any bookstore you frequent. If they don't have it in stock, please ask and they will order for you. It's also available at all online retailers.
Q:What's the difference between comics and manga?
A:Manga is the Japanese word for comic and is a different art form. Aside from the stylistic differences, manga is published in black and white trade books that are much longer than the traditional thin American comics that are in full color.
Each medium is beautiful in its own right and since I learned to read with Spiderman comics, I'm thrilled to see my own work in this form.
Q: Is the DH manga OEL style or traditional?
A: Because I am otaku (in the American sense of the word), the manga reads back to front like traditional Japanese manga. There are directions in each volume to help those unaccustomed to the format to read it.
Q: Is the artist American?
A: No. Claudia is a traditional manga artist with an impressive resume and she does a lot of work with Tokyopop as well as other manga publishers in other countries.
Q: Why manga?
A: Writing comics and manga has always been a dream of mine. I grew up reading both and am hopelessly addicted. We sold the manga to SMP years ago, but because I was such a perfectionist about it, it's taken quite some time for it to come out. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.
Q:Which is your favorite, comics or manga?
A: Both. I grew up reading both and love them dearly. I have no real favorite.
Q:What is your favorite manga series?
A:That's hard and it's ever changing. Naruto, Trinity Blood, Hellsing, Priest, DeathNote, Devil May Cry, etc. I'm mostly a shonen reader though I do venture often to yaoi and ocassionally to shojo.
Q: Do you cosplay?
A: Absolutely. My entire family does.
Q: What got you into manga?
A: Like most people, I was brought in through anime. As a young kid, I was addicted to Ultraman and Speed Racer which began my love affair with Japanese art form. Those were the only two shows that could get me up at 6 AM on a Saturday. From there, I went into Starblazers, Robotech and countless other additions that led me to the manga which back in the day you could only get at shows and through special orders. I'm grateful it's much easier to find today.
