Before writing full time, Sherri taught courses at many
universities and colleges, and was a computer trainer for several
companies. She taught workshops and has given lectures all over the
world.

One of Sherri's favorite memories is of her first
publisher sponsored tour. In Baltimore, her media escort kept telling
her not to expect anyone to show. "We do this more for promo with the
stores than anything else."
When they arrived at the mall, the line went out of the
store, down the mall and wrapped around. Two teenagers on the elevator
with Sherri asked if she knew what famous person would be there. She
laughed and said, "I think they're here for me." They then wanted to
know if she was J.K. Rowling.

Factoid: Sherri reads twelve dead languages,
including Classical and Medieval Latin and Old and Middle English. Her
father once asked her why she bothered, to which she replied: "Hey if
they ever resurrect Chaucer, I'm their girl."
